118 Special Edition Blue from thonet

The 118 is a classic wooden chair that provides subtle elegance at any dining table or restaurant. The principle of reducing a chair to as few components as possible was introduced by Michael Thonet in the middle of the 19th century.

Chair 118 is a further development that reflects the company's legacy - and goes one step further.

Sebastian Herkner adds ingenious details that make the design less dominant but all the more refined. Another special feature is the shape of the chair legs: Rounded off at the back, light edges on the front side of the seat ensure a certain breakage, which takes up the horseshoe-shaped base of the seat. The original type of Thonet chair, the 214, is based on the one-piece curved seat frame and the handcrafted seat covered with woven Vienna wickerwork.
