S43-2 from tecta
Inspired by Marcel Breuer's S43 chest of drawers (1924/27), Florian Borkenagen stacked nine drawer elements for the S43-2 chest of drawers and gave each drawer element an individual handle. This contrasting programme parallels the black and white change of the original Breuer commode.
The chest of drawers with its distinctly architectural look knows how to set the scene. Its perfect shape is suspended by two side handles, like a hint that henceforth chests of drawers should not rest fixed on the floor, but be moved light-footedly on castors.

Tecta is a furniture company based in German Lower Saxony. With the protection and innovative continuation of original Bauhaus models they selected a very prominent field of activity and a very fastidious one. Released by the avant-garde of the 1920s as an risky venture in small-scale production, Tecta managed it exclusively to produce in larger scales today. This has been authorized officially by the Bauhaus archive in Berlin. So Tecta belongs to the leading names when it comes to Bauhaus furniture.
