AJ Garden (Short) from Louis Poulsen

The AJ lamp series is regarded worldwide as Danish architect Arne Jacobsen’s best work. He designed the series in 1957 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen (Radisson Collection), at which time it consisted of a floor lamp, a wall lamp, a table lamp, a smaller table lamp and a table lamp, designed to be attached to a table. Arne Jacobsen designed the SAS Royal Hotel down to the smallest detail for Scandinavian Airlines, including most of the furniture and utility items. The design is recognisable to a keen design eye.

The profile of the AJ Lamp with its straight lines and combination of oblique and right angles is not only seen as a parallel to the profile of the Series 3300 sofa and chairs, but also to the geometric profiles of his buildings.

The AJ Lamp was used in several rooms in the hotel, in copper and stainless steel. Additionally, the AJ Wall in stainless steel formed exquisite rows in the hotel lobby. The AJ Garden bollard follows the same design principles, and is based on the dimensions of the AJ Mini Table Lamp and has the same sophisticated expression, just as the stem has the same characteristic tilt angle as the AJ Floor.

The iconic AJ Garden bollard, in combination with the AJ 50 Wall, makes it possible to enjoy Arne Jacobsen’s design in a wide range of applications in an outdoor setting.

This outdoor lamp emits a pleasant fully shaded downward directed, glare-free light. It is available in two different heights, and has a fixed head and the inside of the shade is painted white to ensure a soft, pleasant reflection of light. The shape of the shade provides superior lighting, allowing an optimal view of the surroundings.

The garden bollard can be fitted with three different installation types namely a base plate, a spike or an anchor. The adapter is positioned externally from the fixture and can run up to 6 bollards. For every 6 bollards, buy 1 bollard with the adapter and 5 without the adapter. Maximum distance to the last bollard is 30 m. The bollard is connected to the adapter using standard plugs delivered with the fixture.

Mounting with spike unit: (Plug and Play). Put the spike into the ground. Let the enclosed cables run over the ground. The bollard is connected to adapter using standard plugs delivered with the fixture.

Mounting with anchor unit: Fixed in concrete. Requires installation by certified electrician. Use installation tubes for inground installation, with enclosed cables running inside, for legal fixed installation. 

Mounting with baseplate: For surface mounting. Requires installation by certified electrician. Use installation tube for inground installation, with enclosed cables running inside, for legal fixed installation.

The lamp is fitted with an integrated energy-saving LED light source. An LED replacement kit is available. Replacement of the built-in LED requires a certified electrician.
