Risom Lounge Chair from knoll international
Jens Risom's designs were the first pieces conceived for and manufactured by Knoll. Due to wartime material restrictions, the lounge chair was originally constructed of simple maple frames and discarded parachute webbing. Described as good, honest furniture design, the collection helped establish Knoll as an early source of modern design in America.
Today the frame of the Risom Lounge Chair is made of selected maple woods in tenon construction and sealed with clear lacquer. The upholstery is made of 100% natural cotton. On request, the chair can also be made of walnut. Sunbrella acrylic yarn can also be chosen as the upholstery fabric, a fabric that is easily stretchable, UV and lightfast, water-repellent, bleachable and dirt-repellent.
