Based on the luminescent patterns of gothic stained glass windows, the Smooth rug’s bright geometric design makes a vibrant statement piece for a living space, bedroom or hallyway. Made by hand in India, the bold palette of wool fibres are traditionally felted to give this piece a soft yet rugged texture.
The Smooth reinterprets gothic style, pairing the angular patterns with a palette inspired by colours found throughout Mudejar, Persia, and Africa.
To create this bold geometric rug, the colourful woollen fibres are hand felted through a cotton backing producing a soft yet rugged feel.
Renowned for producing unique rugs, Smooth is designed in Spain by Gandia Blasco and handmade by specialist Indian craftsmen.

Both the textile line, which is being commercialised since 2008 with the brand name GAN, and the outdoor furniture collections, are signed by prestigious professional designers, such as Jean Marie Massaud, Patricia Urquiola, Sandra Figuerola, ododesign and others. Under the label Gan are offered especially carpets in modern and fresh designs. For example the carpets Ringo, Grafito and Flower. The Gan Rugs are exclusively made by hand - so each Gan rug is a unique piece.
