The Egg™ anniversary edition from Fritz Hansen

In 1958, Arne Jacobsen designed The Egg™ for the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. This originally shaped chair has since become synonymous with Danish furniture design all over the world. The matching footstool provides extra comfort and completes the chair, which is probably one of the most famous lounge furniture in the world. The footstool has a clean, unobtrusive silhouette with a star-shaped base that matches the curves of the Ei™ chair.

The anniversary collection is a careful selection of the most legendary designs from 150 years of the company's history. To celebrate this occasion, we are launching the Ei™ footstool with a black coating used for the first time for the frame and in exclusive upholstery fabrics.

Footstool Ei™ of our anniversary collection is equipped with a PVD coated black frame, which is used for the first time in the furniture industry. The cover is Grace - Chestnut leather, a brand new colour with a distinctive maroon shimmer, exclusively designed by Sørensen Leather for Fritz Hansen. Alternatively, Footstool Ei™ is upholstered in Vanir fabric in Granite Brown (373), designed by fashion designer Raf Simons for Kvadrat. A new upholstery fabric that will be available in this colour exclusively from Fritz Hansen in 2022.
