The Egg™ anniversary edition from Fritz Hansen

The Egg™ armchair by Arne Jacobsen is an eternal Danish design masterpiece. Like a sculptor, Jacobsen created the perfect shape of the shell by experimenting with wire and plaster in his garage. Today, it is recognised worldwide as one of the highlights of Jacobsen's legendary career and a monumental achievement of Scandinavian craftsmanship. The anniversary collection is a careful selection of the most legendary designs from 150 years of the company's history. To celebrate this occasion, we are launching the Egg™ armchair with a black coating used for the first time for the frame and in exclusive upholstery fabrics.

The Egg™ armchair in our anniversary collection is equipped with a PVD-coated black frame that is being used for the first time in the furniture industry. The upholstery is Grace - Chestnut leather, a brand new colour with a distinctive maroon shimmer, exclusively designed by Sørensen Leather for Fritz Hansen. Alternatively, the Egg™ armchair is upholstered in Vanir fabric in Granite Brown (373), designed by fashion designer Raf Simons for Kvadrat. A new upholstery fabric that will be available in this colour exclusively from Fritz Hansen in 2022.

Each Egg™ armchair in the anniversary collection receives its own anniversary plaque.
