A623 from Fritz Hansen
The designer Piet Hein found the inspiration for the most prominent representative of the series, the super-elliptical table, through his solution of the traffic problem for the Sergels Torg in Stockholm: a super-elliptical roundabout. His mathematical spirit produced this ingenious form.
The table top consists of a 22 mm thick chipboard made of laminate or veneer. Laminate is available with an aluminium edge, while the veneer version is supplied with a wood veneer edge. The base consists of a chrome-plated steel pedestal with a star base in satin polished aluminium.
