Combining precision craftsmanship with new perspectives – this is the creative principle that guides the work of Christel Helene Schmidt. After training as a joiner, she studied at the State Fine Arts Academy in Stuttgart. After taking her engineering diploma in Architecture and Design, she worked for various clients, architects’ offices and institutes, then in 2010 became a freelance and opened her ‘werkrausch wohnraumplanung’ engineering consultancy for interior design in Linz, Austria. Since then her work has included the development of new concepts for handicapped accessibility in living and working areas. For Schönbuch, Christel Helene Schmidt has tackled the task of how to display attractive magazine title pages and created COVERSHOW, a wall-mounted rack that presents them as framed pictures.
