Utrecht from Cassina
Strict geometric forms and a restriction on the primary colours red, blue and yellow are the trademarks of designer Gerrit Thomas Rietveld, and are also basically of the design of the sofa Utrecht. The cubic forms are still highlighted with contrasting white stitching. Padding in polyurethane foam with polyester fiber. The supporting steel structure ensures the stability of the sofa, which is available with straight seat (in fabric or leather covered) or with rounded seat (only fabric covering available). Cassina
Founded by Cesare and Umberto Cassina in Meda in 1927, the company launched industrial design in Italy during the 50’s by taking a completely new approach which saw a shift from handcraftsmanship to serial production.
