Hommage to Mondrian from cappellini
The Cappellini cabinet ‘Homage to Mondrian’ is an outstanding tribute to the great Dutch artist Piet Mondrian, inspired by his most beautiful paintings.
The cabinet, which was realised in 2009 by the Japanese designer Shiro Kuramata, is an ingenious system of compartments and drawers, made of lacquered wood and mounted on castors.
The body structure consists of high-density fibre conglomerate panels, matt lacquered in combinations of black with white, blue, red and yellow with clear geometric patterns.
In two different versions, the wardrobe combines colourful and playful drawers and doors with geometric shapes and clear lines.

The Cappellini collections are convincing: they are well balanced, refined, simple and yet lean towards the experimental. The best example is ribbon by the designer nendo. Cappellini design furniture always allow the user enough space for his own individual interpretation. All pieces have been designed to be used, contrary to the trend in recent years.
