Circo Dining Chair from ames

Featuring gentle curves and an intricate webbing, the CIRCO Dining chair adds a touch of colourful elegance to indoor and outdoor spaces. A design by Sebastian Herkner, the comfortable and lightweight chair captures Colombia's vibrancy and spirit with its intriguing colour contrast of webbing and steel frame. Additional seat pads covered with premium fabrics by Nya Nordiska, suitable for indoor use or outdoor use, are available upon request. CIRCO is a handmade product series of outdoor CIRCO furniture and plant objects made of powder-coated tubular steel and colourful plastic wicker.

Each chair is made in Santa Marta, a city on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, by local craftspeople. They weave the PVC strings, which are made from recycled plastic, around a powder coated tubular steel frame. The weaving technique the artesanos and artesanas use is called Momposino, a traditional method known for intricate patterns. Just the preparation of all the materials takes 20 days, while the production of each chair takes two days.
